Join the club! When I went back to college there were several family members and "friends" stopped talking to me, then there were ones that talked to me but made it clear they didn't want to discuss my education endeavors. I also noticed that I was not called on during the Watchtower study and there were many comments with anti education thoughts interwoven. I have to say this was the beginning of my mental exit and made it easier to give up my family. Don't let any of them stop you from pursuing your dreams! NMKA

Great article, I am going to print it (because I do work in the mental health field) and use it as a group discussion. Often my patients get this type of reaction when they have a legit complaint about a family member " oh there you go off the deep end again". NMKA

I totally agree, unless you have money to just burn ( I don't with a kid in college), I would rather have a tangible gift. NMKA

I can't remember the 'Most Important Date of My Life!' Can you?
by Diest ini honestly cant remember the exact date when i was baptized.
it does not bother me one bit.
i didnt have it stamped in that shitty reasoning book/babel that i got at the time, so i guess the only place i could find it would be my cards, which are far away..

I don't even know why I remember but it was Feb 4th 1982, here I was born in and was the ripe age of 17 ( I was such a disgrace to my family). I really did it because my mother was going stop letting me drive if I didn't get baptised, she felt I must not be a good decision maker if I am not baptised (makes perfect sense). May 4th 2008, was the day I told my husband "Honey I can't do this anymore"! NMKA

JWs insensitivity to human tragedies
by behemot ininsensitivity to tragedy, especially when it interferes with their plans, seems to be the norm among jws.. the story about the kansas city k.h.
suicide, and the concern local jws are showing, mainly toward the rebuilding of the hall, reminded me of something that happened in rome, italy at the 2000 international assembly at the olympic stadium.
i was there as a delegate.. on saturday morning, just before the start of the program, a 27 y.o.

I remember going to the first meeting after 911 and no one said a word about it. I thought the mood would be a little somber, no, it was business as usual It's like they are a bunch of robots. The first time it came up was as a tool to jam more 192 page books down the householder's throats! NMKA

Anyone do sales for a living by any chance?
by cognac ini just started in sales recently and have been really good at it.
of course, i grew up a jw, lol.. anyways, i was working on closing an account and took another guy at my work with me to go over the specifications and get quotes and that sort of thing.
well, after the meeting he called and emailed her to ask further questions without my knowledge.. so, i called her yesterday and she completely flipped out about the way he treated her saying that he was pressuring her and bullying her.

I have never had a sales job in my life, however he seems to have overstepped a boundary. Does your company have any rules about this? Just seems wrong to me, for what it is worth. NMKA

Random thoughts about the organization. In 20 years.....
by stuckinamovement inmany people will scoff at the thought that the org will collapse.
i agree that it will never collapse but the crumbling has begun.
think about the following.....they have a serious lack of potential future leaders.

So true, lack of young ones to take over and due to their stance on education a major brain drain too. NMKA
